Wansford was one of the first surgeries in the country to
introduce online repeat prescription ordering for our patients
with our original system in 2001
During 2006, we introduced an improved
appointments and repeat prescriptions system - a 24 hour on-line
service called EMIS

The new
service is more efficient, both for the patient and for
the practice, and one which we feel is a great step forward.
The main advantages are:
a) Repeat prescriptions are automated and communicate
securely with our computer system
b) The system detects which items you have authorised
for ordering and so is much safer and eaier for you. This
does mean you need to ensure your prescription has been renewed
by your GP or nurse. For most items you will need to attend
for a prescription review at the surgery every 6 months. If
you feel you have been reviewed please let dispensary know
by phone (01780) 783994 ( 9-12 am only - ) and they will check
with your usual GP
c) You may also be asked by trained members of staff
about your understanding and use of medicines to ensure you
get the best out of the prescriptions you have.
It’s quick and easy to use, but to get started,
you must first register your details at reception, so that
you can be issued with a Registration Letter.
This will contain your personal Pin
Number and Access ID to allow you internet access. It’s
obviously very important that only genuine patients are registered,
so this Registration Letter can only be obtained IN PERSON
at Reception. Please bring with you a form of identification
– e.g. Driving Licence, Utility Bill – something
with your name and address on.

We
are a dispensing practice with dispensaries at both surgeries.
When ordering repeat prescriptions (Wansford and King’s Cliffe
patients) we offer the following methods-

2.
- post your request to either surgery
3 - fax your request to 01780 783434-
4 -If the above methods are not possible you please telephone
(01780) 783994 between 9a.m – 12noon.(Monday to Friday).
Please allow two working days before collection.
This allows your notes to be checked and the drugs
to be ordered where necessary.
At approximately six monthly intervals, you may be
asked to see the doctor for review. All
prescriptions must be signed and paid for at the time of collection
unless a current exemption or pre-paid certificate is shown.
