What is the local VTS?

GP registrars working at the Wansford Practice are members of the Peterborough General Practice Vocational Training Scheme, in which attendance at the half-day training course is an essential component. We try to keep our training flexible to suit the differing needs of our GP registrars .

Out of hours cover

The nature of on call is changing with the development of out of hours cooperatives. We joined the WELLDOC GP co-operative in 1997 and this is now well established with 43 doctors.

We expect GP registrars to gain their experience by doing approximately 3 shifts per month working alongside one of the partners. Shifts vary between 4 and 8 hours of duty based at Stamford Out of hours centre. Details of on-call arrangements will be discussed in advance.
